This HW-16.5 comes in at a solid 7/10 — fully functional with normal signs of use consistent with its approximately 10-year age. Original box is not included; the power cable is the only accessory present. No cleaning brush, fluid, or additional adapters are included. Please refer to the photos for cosmetic condition before inquiring.
The HW-16.5 has been in continuous production for over 40 years and remains one of the most well-regarded vacuum-based record cleaning machines available at any price. The 18 RPM platter motor, self-aligning vacuum pickup tube, and stainless steel fluid reservoir are the same fundamentals that have made it a fixture in serious analog setups and record shops alike. It is a straightforward, heavy-duty machine that does its job without fuss.

VPI Industries was founded in 1978 by Harry and Sheila Weisfeld in Cliffwood, New Jersey, where the company still manufactures its products today using predominantly North American-sourced components. Now led by their son Mat Weisfeld, VPI remains family-owned and produces turntables, tonearms, and record cleaning machines respected across the analog community. The HW-16 record cleaner — the direct predecessor to the 16.5 — was among the company's very first products, introduced around 1980, and the line has remained in continuous production ever since.
